Can I approve hours in the mobile app?

Purpose: This guide will teach you how to efficiently manage employee hours with the BambooHR mobile app. It will enable you to approve timesheets on the go and ensure accurate payroll processing. This guide will also help you navigate common challenges like approving hours for clocked-in employees, making you the hero of seamless time management.

Timesheet Approvals Notification

To approve hours, tap on the inbox.

Select a notification in the inbox on which you would like to take action.

Review the hours for each employee. You can see any time off taken, paid company holidays, and the employee's total hours worked during the pay period.

Tap Approve All Hours to complete the approval.

Can I approve hours for an individual employee?

To approve an individual employee's hours:

  1. Tap People to open the directory and search for the employee whose timecard you want to approve.
  2. Tap on the Timesheet tab.
  3. Review the entries, and then tap Approve All Hours.
What if an employee is still clocked in when I approve the hours?

If an employee is currently clocked in when you approve hours, the total time will appear in orange with a running timer next to it. Once you tap Approve All Hours, you will see the option to update the clock-out time for the employee (see below).

Adjust the employee's clock-out time and tap Clock Out & Approve to continue with approving hours. If multiple employees are clocked in, you must set a clock-out time for each employee on their Timesheet tab in the mobile app.
