EEO Details Report

BambooHR helps maintain compliance with market and regulatory standards, offering the EEO Details report for viewing and exporting individual employee EEO data. The report is accessible only if the Default Country is set to the United States. To utilize the EEO Details report, users must map job titles to EEO categories defined by the EEOC. The report features essential employee information, including names, employee numbers, gender, ethnicity, job titles, and EEO categories. Users can filter the report by date range and edit EEO categories as needed. It is important to note that only Male and Female selections are reflected in the report, excluding Non-binary or unspecified gender employees. Accurate data is ensured by marking inactive employees as terminated.

BambooHR follows market and regulatory standards to help you maintain compliance and makes reporting easy so you can focus on what matters most. The EEO Details report lets you view individual employee EEO data. You can use and export this report to verify your company's EEO information.

The EEO reports in BambooHR are only available if your company's Default Country field in Settings > General Settings is set to United States.

Set up EEO-1 categories

Job Title

The EEO Details report becomes viewable only after you have completed the EEO category mapping.

  1. Go to Reports > Standard Reports.
  2. Under the Employee Information section, choose EEO Details Report.
  3. When prompted, match each job title in your account (active and inactive) to one of the 10 EEO categories defined by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). You can click Description and examples to learn more about each category. The 10 job categories are as follows:
    • Executive/Senior Level Officials and Managers
    • First/Mid Level Officials and Managers
    • Professionals
    • Technicians
    • Sales Workers
    • Administrative Support Workers
    • Craft Workers
    • Operatives
    • Laborers and Helpers
    • Service Workers
  4. As you go through each EEO category, previously selected job titles will be removed from the remaining lists. Once all job titles are mapped, click OK.

As the Account Owner or Full Admin, you can edit categories directly from the EEO Details report, or you can go to Settings > Employee Fields > Job Title and select Edit EEO categories.

Once a job title has an assigned EEO category, the EEO Job Category field becomes read-only on employee profiles (Job tab). The report then reads this profile data, including the EEO Job Category and Ethnicity fields, for any employee whose job title is linked to a category in your setup.

When you change a job title's EEO category, the system automatically applies the new category to employees who currently hold that title. If you run the EEO Details report for a past date range, the report shows each employee's EEO category based on the job title and category that were assigned at that time, keeping historical records accurate.

Run and filter the report

EEO Details

Once you have mapped the EEO categories, you can run the report. The report includes the following employee information:

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Employee Number
  • Gender*
  • Ethnicity
  • Job Title
  • EEO Category

You can use several features to adjust and review your results:

  1. Filter by date range to view employee data as of a specific range.
    • Terminated employees will appear in the report if the termination date falls within the selected date range.
  2. Use the standard filters to focus the report on a specific group of employees.
  3. Edit EEO categories at any time by selecting Edit EEO Categories in the top right corner of the report. This opens the category mapping window, where you can update or change job title assignments.

*The EEO Details report reflects only Male and Female selections. Employees who select Non-binary or do not have a gender listed will not appear in this report.

If BambooHR detects inactive employees are not terminated, a blue banner will appear at the top of the page. Make sure all inactive employees are correctly marked as Terminated to ensure accurate data.
