- Template Name: Give the template a name to help you remember its purpose. Hint: The employee will not see this name.
- When, Where, and Other Info: Add the time and location of arrival for the employee's first day. You can also add who they can contact for any questions and any other special instructions you may have for them. This section is a great place to include any information that would be helpful for your new employee to know, such as what to wear, where to park, or that they do not need to bring a lunch on the first day because their manager will take them to lunch.
- Get to Know You Email: On the employee's first day, an email will send* with their name, picture, job title, and responses to the Get to Know You questions. This email is a fantastic way to introduce your new employees to the rest of the company** and help them feel like part of the family right away. At this step, you can choose which groups you would like to receive that email. We recommend introducing the new employee to All Employees. However, you can use the standard filter options to filter the packet to only go to specific employment statuses, departments, locations, or divisions if needed. This email cannot be edited, but you can choose the questions you would like to add.
- Get to Know You Questions: Add up to nine questions to help you and your employees get to know the new employee better! These will be included in the Get to Know You Email.
- Preview Email: Click to view how the email will appear to your new employee.
Don't forget to save your template when done.
*If you have five or more Get to Know You emails being sent out on one day, they will be consolidated into one summary email instead. You can learn more about these emails here.
**Please note that all active employees will receive the Get to Know You email. This means all employees with Active status on the Personal tab will receive this email based on the filters you have set. The employee does not need to have access to BambooHR to receive the email.
