Recognition allows employees to celebrate coworkers by creating public or private recognition posts, tagging core values, awarding points, and interacting through comments and reactions. Employees can view recognition activity in the Recognition Feed, filter posts, receive recommendations, and manage recognition they have given or received.

This guide is for employees who have access to Recognition.

Employees who have been excluded from Recognition and Rewards cannot access the Recognition Feed or participate in recognition activities.

Before giving recognition:

• Recognition must be enabled by your administrator.
• You must not be excluded from the Recognition and Rewards program.
• If you plan to award points, Rewards must be enabled and you must have points available to give.
• If your organization sets the monthly point allowance to 0, you won't automatically receive points each month. Administrators can still provide points through one-time or additional allocations when available.
• If your organization uses core values, your administrator may require core value tags on recognition posts.

You can access the Recognition Feed by:

• Clicking Recognition in the left navigation.
• Clicking Give Recognition from the Recognition widget on your homepage.
• Opening a recognition link from a Recognition email notification.

The Recognition Feed includes:

1. All recognition activity.
2. Recognition you have received.
3. Recognition you have given.
4. Point balances (to redeem and to give).
5. Recognition recommendations.

Open the Give Recognition window

You can create a recognition post by:

1. Navigating to Recognition.
2. Clicking Give Recognition.

The Give Recognition window will open.

Select recipients

1. Select at least one employee to recognize.
2. Add additional recipients if needed.

There is no maximum number of recipients.

Enter a message

1. Enter a recognition message. Include emojis, GIFs, or AI suggestions (see below).
2. Review the message and continue adding Core Values and Points (if applicable). If you are not adding Core Values and/or Rewards/points you will not see this option. Click Post to publish.

Requirements:

• Recognition messages are required.
• Messages can contain up to 2,000 characters.
• A character countdown appears when 100 characters remain.
• You cannot @mention employees within the message body.

Use AI-assisted writing

After entering a message, you can use AI-assisted writing tools to modify the content.

Available options include:

• Longer
• Shorter
• Professional
• Casual
• Fun

The enhanced message replaces the original message, and you can undo changes, if needed.

Publish your post:

1. Review your recognition post.
2. Click Post.

After posting:

• The post appears in the Recognition Feed.
• Recipients receive an email notification.
• Any awarded points are transferred immediately.

Edit your post:

Only the author of the post can make edits to the post.

The author can edit:

• Message content
• Core value tags
• Public/private status

You cannot edit:

• Recipients
• Awarded points

Although only the post author can edit the post, admins can fully delete a post.

Employees can engage with recognition posts through comments and reactions.

Add a comment:

1. Open a recognition post.
2. Click View Comments to expand and view comments.
3. Enter your comment in the text box and click Comment to publish. If you did not expand comments, click View Comment to open the text field.
4. You can also click the emoji or GIF to add a reaction to the post.

Comments are limited to 1,000 characters.

Edit a comment:

Only the comment author can edit the comment however, admins can fully delete a comment.

The Recognition Feed includes:

• All: Displays all visible recognition posts
• Received: Displays recognition you have received
• Given: Displays recognition you have given

Your selected tab remains active when you return to the feed.

The All tab supports filters for:

• Division
• Department
• Location

Use Clear Filters to reset selections.

Recognition Recommendations

Recognition recommendations help you identify coworkers who may deserve recognition.

Recommendations may be based on:

• Birthdays
• Goal completion
• Employees who have not been recognized recently
• Manager and employee activity

Each recommendation can include:

• Suggested recipient
• Suggested message
• Core value tags
• Suggested point value

You can:

• Send the recommendation immediately.
• Edit before posting.
• Dismiss the recommendation.

Thought-starters

A thought-starter is a prompt designed to help you think of coworkers to recognize. You can refresh thought-starters to view additional prompts.

Employee profiles include a Recognition tab.

The Recognition tab displays:

• Recognition received
• Recognition given

Access to this tab follows the same permissions used for viewing employee profiles.

• Recognition messages are limited to 2,000 characters.
• Comments are limited to 1,000 characters.
• Employee names in recognition posts are not clickable.
• Deleted posts cannot be recovered through the Recognition Feed.
• Posts remain visible after an employee leaves the company.
• Administrators can delete recognition posts.
• Administrators previewing as another employee cannot post, comment, react, redeem points, or view private posts.
