What is Training in BambooHR?

Purpose: To understand how our training module works and the options available for recording an employee's training.

Settings

To set up your trainings, click on Training in Settings.

From here you can track additional information for training by clicking the gear icon and checking the appropriate selections.

Click New Category to add your training categories. Click +New Training to begin setting up your training courses. You can select from creating your own training or pulling from the library.

View Training

View trainings in the Upcoming Training table and the Completed table, and the Goals/Training/Benefits widget.

Record a training as completed from the employee profile (see above) or use the power edit tool.

Please note that dates shown in orange indicate an expired or past due training. Dates in gray indicate an upcoming or recurring training.

In order for your employees to be able to see their trainings, you will need to select View Only for the desired trainings in access levels under See About Themselves.

Email Alerts

Set up the available training email alerts.

Reporting

You can use custom reports to easily view data on who has completed what training. Navigate to Reports > New Custom Reports > + New Reports.

From here, click the Fields dropdown, select Training, and choose which fields you would like to include in the report. Then click Save, and voila! You now have a report that you can easily filter to view your employee's training data.

A training will not appear in the custom report if it is not required for the employee and they have no prior record of completing it.
