Additions and Terminations Report

The Additions and Terminations report provides insights into employee hiring and termination over a specified date range. Accessible through the Reports tab under Standard Reports, users can filter data to view employees hired or terminated during that time. The report includes a growth rate graph, indicating monthly changes. The Additions section lists newly hired employees based on their Hire Date, while the Terminations section details employees marked as terminated. It is important to ensure consistency among the Hire Date and Employment Status fields for accurate reporting. Users with the Elite package can utilize a benchmarking feature for comparative analysis. Notably, inactive employees not marked as terminated in BambooHR will not appear in the Terminations table.

Can I see all of my additions and terminations over time?

Purpose: To help you understand the contents of the Additions and Terminations report, including how to view employees that were hired and terminated within a selected date range.

Additions and Terminations

The Additions and Terminations report, like all standard reports, is accessible by navigating to the Reports tab > Standard Reports.

  1. Filter:Select the date range to see which employees were hired and terminated during the specific time frame.
  2. *Growth Rate:A line graph shows you the growth rate of your company on a monthly basis. You can hover your cursor over a dot to view how many additions and terminations were made that month.
  3. Additions: A list of all of the employees who got hired during the selected date range. Data is pulled from the Hire Date field on the employees' Job tab.
    • If the earliest effective date indicated in the Employment Status and Job Information tables do not match the Hire Date field, the system will automatically pull the earliest date and display blank information within the Department, Division, Location, and Job Title columns. To correct this, ensure the date in the Job Information, Employment Status, and Hire Date tables/fields all match.
    • If the employee gets rehired, it will pull in the rehire date or the first employment status line after their termination, depending on which date is the earliest.
  4. Terminations: A list of all of the employees who got terminated during the selected time frame. This data populates when an employee is set as Terminated from the action menu on their Job tab** (similar to Additions, the Hire Date field will pull the earliest date between the Hire Date field and the earliest entry on the Employment Status table if they do not match).

**If an employee is not terminated in BambooHR but marked as inactive, they will not show in the Terminations table.
