Assessment Email Notifications

BambooHR® Performance Management is accessible for customers on the Pro plan. This feature includes a series of email notifications related to employee and manager assessments. Notifications are sent 30, 10, three, and one day before assessment closure. Employees receive reminders for self-assessments, while managers are notified to complete assessments. Upon completion, automated notifications are sent to managers and employees, including links to access responses. Notifications also cover scenarios such as skipped assessments, impromptu assessments, and cancellations. All communications originate from a designated email address. What are the email notifications for assessments?

Purpose:To show you what email notifications are sent for employee and manager assessments.

Email notifications from BambooHR come from notifications@app.bamboohr.com.

Notification schedule

Managers and employees will receive a notification 30, 10, three, and one day(s) before the assessment closure.

If you set up your assessment period to begin the same day, the employee notifications will go out 30 minutes after the settings are saved, rather than following the 7 AM company timezone rule.

Email notifications

Review assessment questions

All Full Admin users will receive an email notification ten days before the next review cycle (7 AM in company timezone), allowing them to make any changes to assessment questions before the review cycle begins.

Self assessment

Employees will receive email notifications that remind them to complete their self assessments. The system will send them reminders at 7 AM (company timezone) according to the schedule listed above.

Manager assessment

Managers will receive email notifications that remind them to complete their manager assessments. The reminders will be sent according to the schedule listed above and at 7 AM (company timezone).

Completion of self-assessment

Once an employee completes the self assessment, their manager will receive an automated email notification that includes a link they can click on to log in and complete the manager assessment for the employee.

If the employee's manager has already completed the manager assessment, the email notification will also include the employee's assessment responses.

Completion of the manager assessment

Once a manager submits the manager assessment, the employee will receive an automated email notification that includes a link they can click on to log in to BambooHR and view the manager's responses (only if the employee has completed their self assessment and a future date has not been set).

If a manager asks an administrator to unlock the manager assessment to make changes, the employee will receive another email notification once the manager resubmits the assessment.
If the manager schedules to publish the assessment at a future date, the employee will not receive a notification until that date and therefore will not be able to view the responses until the set date.

Skipped assessment

The employee will receive an email notification if their manager chooses to skip the self and manager assessments within a specific review period.

Impromptu assessment

Once a manager starts an impromptu assessment, the employee will receive an email notification, where they can click Start Self Assessment to complete their impromptu self assessment in BambooHR.
