Can I run a report to show the status of each goal?

Purpose: This help guide will explain how you can utilize the Goals Progress report to view your employees' goal progress and the status of each goal.

Settings

If you enable the Goals setting (All Employees or Only Some Employees) in Settings > Performance, you can access the Goals Status report.

Goals Status

Access settings: The report is automatically available to the Account Owner and Full Admin users. Custom access level users can only access the report if they have access granted to specific employees' goals. Manager access level users have automatic access to the report for their direct or indirect reports, regardless of their access level settings.

To view the Goals Status report, navigate to the Standard Reports folder on the Reports tab and select the report from the Performance and Culture section.

Under "Goals Status," you can filter the report to show goals by All Employees, Department, Division, Location, Job Title, Employment Status, Teams, or Manager. If you need to add more than one filter, click on the green plus icon. Additionally, the goal status filter (next to "Showing") allows you to select which goal statuses you would like to view in the report. Click here to learn more about this filter.

The report includes the following information about each goal:

If you want to download and export the report, click More in the top right corner and select the file format (Excel, CSV, or PDF). Upon download, you will be able to print or email the report.

Goal comments

Directly from the Goals Status report, you can view or add comments about an employee's goal without going to their employee profile. This overview gives you a snapshot to quickly and easily add a comment or view the commenting history to stay up to date on the status of the specific goal.

Click on the comment bubble to view additional comments or add a comment about an employee's goal. New comments will be automatically posted to the goal and the Goals Status report.

Goal status filter options

In Progress

By default, the report shows all in-progress goals for you and down the reporting line. Since the report categorizes completed goals by review period, the In Progress filter will show all goals pending completion regardless of the due date.

Completed

You can also filter the report to show completed goals. The filter defaults to the date range of the current review period, but you can choose past review periods from the dropdown menu on the right. Or, you can select a custom date range to see completed goals during that time frame. However, if an employee completes a goal within a specific review period, the goal completion will appear under that review period in the report.

Closed

Similarly, you can view goals closed within a specific time period. This filter includes goals that were not completed but still needed to be recorded.

No Goals Set

From the same dropdown menu on the right, you can choose to show only those employees who do not have goals set. This filter provides you with an opportunity to reach out to these employees and give them a little extra encouragement.

Past Due

Lastly, you can filter to show only goals that are past due. This filter will include any goals that have a due date in the past but are still incomplete.
