BambooHR provides bulk employee profile removal services, allowing employers to delete multiple employee profiles simultaneously. This service is beneficial for managing records retention. To initiate the removal, written confirmation from the Account Owner is required, acknowledging that deleted profiles cannot be recovered. Profiles must be tagged with "delete" in the Middle Name field. Project associates can assist with the removal process, which incurs a fee of $300 per request, regardless of the number of profiles. For individual removals, the Account Owner can delete profiles directly. It is important to note that profiles cannot be deleted from accounts using BambooHR Payroll. Purpose: BambooHR offers bulk employee profile removal services. This allows you to delete employee profiles in bulk. Sometimes it can become necessary to remove many employee profiles at a time. This is a common need for employers who need to retain records for a specific length of time. Our project associates can assist in the removal of these large groups of employees to help save you time.

Need to remove just a few employees? The Account Owner of your account has the ability to remove individual employee profiles from your account. If you are unsure who this person is you can review this in Settings > Account > Account Information. Please review our Delete an Employee guide for instructions on how your team can complete this.

For customers using BambooHR Payroll, please note that we cannot delete employee profiles from accounts with Payroll. For assistance, contact Payroll Support.

Overview

Once deleted, employee profiles cannot be recovered. We recommend using a custom report to review employees marked for deletion. Download this report as a backup before proceeding.

Before we can start an employee profile removal, we must have written confirmation from your Account Owner. They must acknowledge that they understand employee profiles are not recoverable once removed.

After receiving permission, profiles must be tagged for deletion. A Full Admin user must enter "delete" in the Middle Name field for each employee to be deleted. Ensure the tag is in lowercase letters.

Use the power edit tool or Importer for active employees. For inactive employees, use the Importer or update the Middle Name field from the Personal tab. Once all employees are tagged with “delete,” our project associates will remove the profiles and notify you upon completion.

How many employee profiles can be deleted in a request?

As many as you need! Project associates can assist with removing active or inactive employee profiles from your account.

Can your project associate assist with the tagging of employee profiles?

Yes! We require that a removal template be completed before a project associate can assist with the import. Please note that the importing requests incur additional costs.

How much does it cost to remove a batch of employee profiles from my account?

Each removal request costs $300, regardless of the number of employee profiles.

Can you also delete candidate profiles?

Currently, we only offer the removal of employee profiles. If you need the candidate profiles removed, you can either delete the job opening, which removes all candidates under that opening, or delete individual candidates from the Candidate List tab.

How do I tag employee profiles to be deleted?

To tag an employee profile to be deleted from your account, enter delete in their Middle Name field on the Personal tab. You can update active employee profiles in bulk using our power edit tool or the importer. To mark inactive or terminated employees, you must use the importer or navigate to the specific employee profiles and manually update the names.

Please make sure to type delete in all lowercase letters for your removal tags.
