Calendar in the Mobile App

The BambooHR mobile app features a calendar function designed to enhance schedule management. Users can view who is out of the office and upcoming holidays, promoting better organization. The calendar highlights specific dates with indicators for employee absences and company holidays. Managers receive notifications about employee celebrations, such as anniversaries and birthdays, with a widget available on the Home screen. This widget provides quick access to details about upcoming celebrations. Users can also send celebration messages through the app. While the web version currently displays all holidays, the mobile app will soon include this feature. Overall, the calendar function supports efficient scheduling and employee recognition.

How does the calendar function in the mobile app?  

Purpose: Empower yourself to manage your schedule efficiently with BambooHR's mobile calendar feature. This feature enables you to quickly view who is out of the office and upcoming holidays to better stay informed and organized.

If you choose to make a holiday visible to all employees, even if some of them are not included in the holiday settings, employees will be able to see that holiday on the web version of BambooHR. The mobile app will include this functionality soon, but it does not currently display that information.

Calendar

To access the calendar, tap Calendar on Home.

For Managers: On the day before and day of a celebration (employee anniversary or birthday), a widget* on Home will announce the big day for your employee. This widget could display one event or multiple events for one or more employees who report to you. If there is only one employee celebration, you can click on the widget to go to the employee's profile. If there are multiple employee celebrations, you can click on the widget to go to Celebrations in the calendar (see below).

Additionally, you will receive a push notification on the employee's celebration date at 9 AM (in the company's time zone) to remind you to celebrate.

*To see this widget, access to the Celebrations widget on Home must be granted via Access Level Settings

The calendar in the mobile app allows you to see who will be out of the office. More specifically, you will find the following details:

  1. Dots: Indicate dates when employees will be out of the office or a company holiday.
  2. Toggle: When tapping on the calendar from Home, the Who's Out information will automatically appear. You can tap Celebrations to see upcoming employee anniversaries and birthdays in the company (see below).
  3. Daily Details: This shows Who's Out details for the selected date.
  4. Who's Out: This shows an out-of-office overview for the month selected.

Celebrations

Tap the text or email button to send the employee a nice celebration message.
