Project Hours Report

Is there is a report I can run for total project times?

Purpose: If you use BambooHR Time & Attendance, you can have your employees track their time working on specific projects and tasks. The Project Hours report shows you the total time worked for each project and task, both billable and non-billable. This help guide will show you how to run this report.

It is important to note that this report does not replace your Approved Hours report that used for payroll purposes. The Project Hours report allows you to have the data needed (broken down by project, etc.) to track projects internally or give to your accounting department to bill out to customers.

Project Hours

This report is automatically available to Account Owners and Full Admin users. Additionally, they can share this report with custom access level users. However, these users can only view employees they have access to view timesheets for in this report.

The Project Hours report shows you a total of hours worked related to a specific project and task. When you set up your projects, you can add tasks and label them as billable or non-billable. This report breaks down these entries for you to report on the total time for both billable and non-billable hours for each project and task. You can also export the report as an Excel or CSV file if needed.

  1. Date range: Select the date range to pull the total project hours.
  2. Filter: The report automatically shows all active projects and tasks. Click Active if you want to show archived items or all projects and tasks.
  3. Project: Each project shows in the report with the total hours, both billable and non-billable. If you do not have tasks associated with a project, you will see a breakdown of the employees and the amount of time they have worked on the project.
  4. Task breakdown: If you have tasks associated with your project, you will see the total amount of time spent on the tasks. Additionally, you can expand a task to see which employees have worked on the task and the total amount of time they have worked on the task during the selected date range.
