Who is this for?

This guide is for administrators, managers, and employees who work with employee information in BambooHR. What you can see in the Snapshot depends on the following:

  • Your access level settings
  • Your organization's company directory settings
  • Whether you have profile access to the employee

Before you start

Before using the Snapshot, ensure the following:

  • Your access level settings grant visibility to the employee information you expect the assigned employees to see.
  • The company directory is enabled to allow limited access to employee details without full profile access.
  • You understand that Snapshot data is view-only and cannot be edited.

Accessing the Employee Snapshot

What information can I see in the Employee Snapshot

What you see in the Employee Snapshot depends on whether you have profile access to the employee and how your company has configured access levels and company directory settings. If you have profile access, the fields you see are based on your access level settings and the fields included in the Snapshot. If you do not have profile access, the fields you see are based on company directory settings and the fields included in the snapshot.

  • An admin will see all of the fields listed below:
    • First and Last name
    • Job Title
    • Location (including the local time)
    • Email
    • Mobile Phone
    • Birth Date
    • Employee Number
    • Hire Date
    • Employment Status
    • Department
    • Division
    • Teams
    • Job History - this section will show previous job positions with the dates the employee was in that role and their salary
    • Reports to
    • Direct Reports

You will also see a banner if the employee is out of the office (based on time off), and if they have a birthday or anniversary on the day you view the Snapshot.

Custom fields and tables are not included in the Employee Snapshot.
